This series of cottonwood trees and landscapes were painted Plein air in Central Washington, outside of Ellensburg. I tried to capture the fertile soil, lush fields and windy days that are typical of this amazing region. Kimberly Saltiel is a self-taught, local artist who paints uplifting, impressionist style works and teaches others to foster their creativity through no-fear based art retreats. Saltiel’s love of nature and her innate optimism is reflected in her vibrant color palette, diverse subjects and evocative works. With a grace of hand, Saltiel fills each canvas with light and her love of painting brings each work to life.
